A teacher at the K-12 Mojave River Academy in Palm Springs was arrested April 21 and charged with a variety of sexual offenses against a minor, including “oral copulation with a person under 18, sodomy with a person under 18, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and sexual penetration involving a child under 18.”

According to the Palm Desert Enterprise, officials were notified in early February that an adult male was involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl. During the course of a two-month investigation, law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Jesse Adam Goff, 33. He allegedly contacted the girl on the Internet; investigators said that she was not a student at the Academy.

Goff posted $50,000 in bail and was released from custody on April 22.
