Over the last several months, I’ve had a number of follow-up conversations with Ken about ways in which we might work together. The first concrete step occurred earlier this week, when my book Cybertraps for Educators was added to the SWGfL online book store. I’m excited about the opportunity to introduce this book to educators in the United Kingdom, particularly since a number of my examples of digital misconduct were drawn from that region.
In the months to come, I’ll be working with Ken and the SWGfL on collection of resources called the Schools’ Reputation Toolkit. We’ll be developing tools that schools and school districts can use to educate the public regarding digital misconduct, identify potential problems within the schools, respond appropriately when incidents do occur, and take steps to address procedural weaknesses and ethical lapses. Watch this space for further updates.
